Hey 6x Team, my name is Matt and I will be with you all for the next month as part of a placement initiative run by my university. I currently hold a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and am in my first year in a Masters of Exercise Physiology at The University of Sydney. Over the first week I have enjoyed coming to meet many of you, hearing about why you enjoy training and learning why 6x Training is the gym for you.
I have work experience through a previous placement at a Schoolboy rugby program over the 2017 winter season as well as work place rehabilitation for those who have suffered an injury in the workplace and are on compensation.
Personally, I chose to undertake a Masters degree, as I am interested in the rehabilitation process for a range of injuries as well as chronic conditions such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. I have a keen interest in most sports and understand the movements required to be able to perform well in sport. Through the completion of my Bachelor degree, I have a broad knowledge of injury prevention and rehabilitation, as well as various ways to train in order to improve performance and recovery methods.
Upon finishing my Masters degree, I plan to enter a job specific to rehabilitation, whether it be in the workplace, sporting field or home. I have already gained some useful insights into the process or exercise training here at 6x and cant wait to learn more.
Over the next few weeks I will be watching in on some PT classes as well as running a few group sessions further down the track. If you have any questions related to exercise and training, please don’t hesitate to ask me, I’m always happy to help. I look forward to getting to know more of you within the 6x community and understanding your goals and why you choose to train.
